Custom type can mean a single character or a complex type family with more than ten members. It can also mean an adjustment to an excisting typeface or a design from scratch. CakeType has produced typefaces for KPN and road signage in South Korea, amongst others, as well as the lettering for the KWF Kankerbestrijding logo and Bookedoo logos. In 2003 Dutch design studio Teldesign redesigned the logo and corporate identity of KWF Kankerbestrijding (the Dutch Cancer Society). For the logo an uppercase alphabet was designed which fit the illustration of the crab and the chosen typeface for the identity, Typotheque’s Fedra Sans.
